The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) is seeking a vendor to conduct a high quality pre-AP teacher training program. The selected vendor will work in cooperation with the ESE and local districts to provide the pre-AP training to vertical teams of middle and high school teachers, grades 6 - 10. The pre-AP training program will be designed to strengthen teachers' content knowledge and pedagogical skills and to improve both the rigor and alignment of middle and high school curriculum in the areas of English Language Arts (ELA), Science and Technology/Engineering (Science) and Mathematics. The goal of the pre-AP program is to increase the number of low income and minority students prepared for and successful in AP and college-level course work. In order to be eligible to respond to the RFQ (resulting from this RFI), vendors must be pre-approved under contract # 10APAJP1 as of December 13, 2010, in all of the following categories (as posted under the vendor category file): Professional Development and Structures for Collaboration (B, C,D) (7), Aligned Curriculum (B) (8) and Effective Instruction (A, C) (9). (See attached file). The vendor selected by the ESE to conduct the pre-AP training program will: 1) Enter into a Statement of Work (SOW) agreement with the ESE; 2) Contract with each participating school district, under a separate contract.
